About This Tour:
Kerala transforms completely during the monsoon season (June to September). The misty hills of Munnar turn a deep emerald green, hundreds of waterfalls come alive along the mountain roads, the forests of Thekkady thicken into a lush canopy, and the backwaters of Alleppey overflow with a quiet, rain-washed beauty that no photograph can fully capture. This is Kerala at its most raw, most dramatic, and most alive.
Monsoon is also the season when tourist crowds thin out. Hotels and resorts offer their best rates of the year. Ayurvedic resorts across Kerala consider the monsoon months the ideal time for traditional treatments — the cool, humid climate is believed to open the body’s pores and make herbal therapies far more effective. If you have always wanted to experience the real Kerala — not just the postcard version — a monsoon visit is the answer.
This 6 nights 7 days tour package is specially designed for the people who want to explore the monsoon season in Kerala. In this monsoon package, you will experience the beauty of Hill stations, can enjoy your stay in houseboat and at last, you can explore the largest coastal area at Kovalam. Checkout more details about each and every places that will be included in this unique Kerala monsoon tour package.
The Best Time to Book This Kerala Monsoon Package:
The monsoon season in Kerala officially arrives with the Southwest Monsoon in the first week of June and continues through mid-September. For tourism purposes, June, July, and August are the peak monsoon months, and the best time to experience this package. September marks the tail end of the monsoon — the rains ease, the greenery is at its peak, and many travelers consider it the sweet spot between lush monsoon beauty and comfortable travel weather.
A few things to keep in mind when planning your dates:
- Waterfalls are at their most spectacular from July to September. Many of the waterfalls you will pass on the Kochi–Munnar route — including Valara Falls and Kallar Falls — are seasonal and are only worth visiting during the monsoon.
- Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai) closes from February to March every year for the Nilgiri Tahr calving season, so monsoon months are a great time to visit if it is open.
- Kovalam Beach during the monsoon is dramatic but swimming is restricted due to rough seas. The beach is beautiful to walk along and the lighthouse views are stunning even in the rain.
Ayurvedic treatments are considered most effective during the Karkidaka month (roughly July–August in the Malayalam calendar), making this the ideal time to add a rejuvenating massage session to your trip.

Kerala Ayurveda During Monsoon — A Special Experience
Kerala is the birthplace of Ayurvedic medicine, and the monsoon season — known locally as Karkidaka — is traditionally considered the single best time of year to undergo Ayurvedic treatments. According to Ayurvedic practitioners, the cool, moist climate during the monsoon keeps the body’s pores open and the nervous system calm, making herbal oil therapies and detox treatments significantly more effective than during any other season.
Many hotels and resorts along this package route — especially in Thekkady and Kovalam — offer excellent Ayurvedic therapy centers. Common treatments available include:
- Abhyangam – A full-body herbal oil massage performed by two therapists in a synchronized manner, typically lasting 45–60 minutes. This is the most popular treatment and can be added as an evening session at most resorts during your Munnar or Kovalam stay.
- Shirodhara – A deeply relaxing treatment where warm medicated oil is poured continuously over the forehead. Particularly recommended if you are travelling for stress relief or sleep improvement.
- Pizhichil – A therapeutic oil bath treatment, traditionally recommended for joint and muscle conditions.
Ayurvedic treatments are not included in the standard package cost and are available at extra cost. If you would like Ayurvedic sessions pre-arranged at your resort, please mention this at the time of booking and our team will coordinate it for you.
