About Fort Kochi
Fort Kochi, a beautiful small place located outskirts of Kochi city. This is the place where Dutch and Portuguese started their settlement beginning of 16th century when they landed in Kerala for trade. They have built first church ie St Francis Church and Emmanuel Fort in Fort Kochi. Fort Kochi is the place where most of the Jews settled. Since the 16th century, they established themselves as an integral part of the commerce and culture of Kochi. The main attraction of Fort Kochi is the old colonial building and calm and quiet environment compare to busy Kochi metro city.
Tourists main attraction in Fort Kochi are – Chinese fishing nets, Santacruz basilica, Price Street, Dutch Palace, Jewish synagogue, Jain Temple, Jew Street etc

PROGRAMME
10:00hrs – Pick up from Samudrika Whorf and it takes 30mins to reach Fort Kochi
10:45hrs – Arrival at Fort Kochi.
The Tour is arranged in a 2 stage programme.
The first stage starts from Chinese fishing nets, Santacruz basilica, Price Street etc. After this tour, those who want to have a shopping or walk around the places are available.
A traditional lunch on the banana leaf will be provided in one of the hotels.
The second stage starts at Mattancherry, a place located 4kms away from Fort Kochi. In Mattancherry, Dutch Palace, a Jewish synagogue, and a Jain temple will be covered. The guide will take you to the Jew street for a walking. Once can buy antiques, artifacts, souvenirs etc. One side the wholesale market of SPICES. One can even buy good species like cardamom, black pepper, cinnamon etc with a cheaper price.
15:00hrs – its time to board the bus and proceed to Kochi Port to board the Ship.
15:45hrs – Arrival at Port and tour ends.

Passengers booked through shipping company will not get much time for shopping, traditional lunch etc. This is a private tour and has complete freedom- like, if you are going from Kochi Wharf to Fort Kochi, if you see something on the roadside and buy, it is completely possible in this tour. Whereas, in Shipping company package, they are all traveling in a 35 seat ac coach packed and stopping on the roadside is not at all permitted.
