Brief Overview of the Tour
This Kerala is famous for its Hill station, Backwaters and beaches. That too in a 5 star hotel brand like Taj Hotels, it will be memorable trip. So, if you are looking to spend quality time with your better half in Kerala, this honeymoon package is best for you.
Itinerary.
Day 1 – Kochi – Munnar 145 Kms 4 Hrs.
Upon arrival, our driver will meet, greet and transfer to Munnar. It may take upto 3 – 4hrs to reach Munnar. Below are the sightseeing options available on the way to Munnar.
- Cheeyappara Waterfalls. This is located on the Kochi – Munnar highway. Thisis a good place to have photos, but no bathing is allowed as rocks used to slippery. There is no entry fee or parking fee needs to be given. There are couples of small shops selling local food items. 15-20mins halt is recommended.
- Valera Waterfalls. After Cheeyappara you can see another water fall on the right side. You cannot see this nearby.
Note : These waterfalls are not available from Feb to May due to summer season.
- Plantation Tour. A plantation tour is to familiarize with different ayurvedic herbs, cardamom, cinnamon, tea and coffee plantations. You need to pay an entry fee of minimum Rs 150 per person. These are owned and operated by private parties where they explain about each herb and its importance how this is being used as medicine. After the plantation tour, they used to take the tourist to their shope where different ayurvedic medicines are displayed.
- Elephant Safari. Those who like to see or like to have a ride on an elephant, you can visit a centre located on the way to Munnar. It may take upto 1hr for this activity. Minimum price is Rs 800 per person.
Evening Options.
Kathakali and Kalaripayattu. Kathakali is a famous art form and Kalaripayattu is a martial art of Kerala. Both are famous and if you like art and culture, you should not miss this. There are two performance centers in Munnar. Punarjani which is located little bit outside is the best one. Both these performance is of an hour each which start at 1700hrs and ending at 1900hrs. Entry fee is Rs 300 per person for each show.

Day 2 – Munnar
After breakfast Munnar sightseeing. Below are some of the best sightseeing options at Munnar.
- Eravikulam National Park. Eravikulam is part of Rajamalai mountain ranges where one can spot rare species of mountain goat called – Nilgiri Tahr. you can also experience Anamudi Peak, beautiful valley from the top, grass land, flora and fauna. Since this involve approx 700-900mtrs hike, those who have breathing problems should avoid this. Also those who are not interested in this Nilgiri Tahr,valley and mountans, this trip can be avoided. Eravikulam national park is closed from 01 Feb to 31 Mar every year due to calving season. Entry is chargeable and permit can be obtained from the main entrance or through online booking.
- Tea Museum vs Tea Factory visit. Tata Tea museum is one of the attraction to find how tea is being processed from raw tea leaves. But couple of yrs ago, two tea factories – one in Mattupetty dam area and another one in Lockhart were open to guest to see how the tea is being processed. Comparing to tea museum, the tea factory visit gives you an advantage as you can also buy processed tea from the factory. Moreover, all these tea factories provide guide along with the guest to explain the process.
Lunch at Munnar city. After lunch we will be covering the below sightseeing options.
- Mattupetty Dam – Mattupetty dam and its park gives you some time to relax. If you are interested, here speed boat trip with full security is available. There is a small play ground for children is also available.
- Echo Point – This is a place near Mattupetty dam. Noce photo stop.
- Kundala Lake – Nice lake near to Mattupetty.
- Flower Garden or Rose Garden – Nice place to visit, lots of variety of flowers.
Shopping in Munnar – Best place to buy Coffee / Tea, Ayurvedic products and all type of species.

Day 3 -Munnar to Kumarakom. 170 Kms 4 Hrs.
After break fast transfer to Kumarakom. Arrival and transfer to Hotel. We have not planned any sightseeig today. Leisur and relax on the lake side resort
Day 4 – Kumarakom.
Sightseeing options and activities available.
- Bird sanctuary. Season for migratory birds is from Feb onwards for 4 months. But its similar type of a forest and walking inside the sanctuary is a good experience. There is a watch tower insider the forest which gives a good view. The best time to visit this is from 6am to 8am.
- Sunset Cruise – Check your hotel as most of the hotels have a free sunset cruise. A sunset cruise in the lake is the most attraction.
- Kayaking – If you are an adventure enthusiast, Kayaking is an option.
- Ayurvedic massage and treatment – There are many ayurvedic treatment centers in Kumarakom and you can also look at the same facility at the resort itself.
- Houseboat Day cruise with Lunch. If you are interested a private houseboat day cruise with local cusine is an added attactraction.
Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 5 -Kumarakom to Kovalam Beach. 165 Kms 5 Hrs
After morning cruise and breakfast departure for Kovalam. On the way to Kovalam, if interested, visit Jatayu Earth Centre.
- Jatayu Earth Centre. Myth – Jatayu is an embodiment of valor and chivalry. Risking his life, he tried his best to save Sita from her abductor. Jatayu is a man made sculpture constructed on a top of a hill. The statue is 200ft long, 150ft wide and 70ft tall. This has entered in the Guinness book of records as “largest functional bird statue”.
Arrival Kovalam beach by 1600hrs.
Arrival at Kovalam, Check in hotel, overnight stay in hotel.
Day 6 – Kovalam.
Today after B/F, Half day Trivandrum sightseeing.
- Padmanabha Swamy temple – Open at 4am and darshan available till 11am. Evening it open at 4pm and darshan available till 8pm. Pants, Jeans, Bermuda etc are not allowed inside. Gents should wear Dhoti and ladies saree / churidar. In case of churidar, Dhoti needs to wear over the churidar. Dhoti available in front the temple shop for Rs 50 per piece onwards. Ladies can carry small bag or wallet, but camera, mob phone etc are not allowed inside the temple.
- Kuthiramaliaka Palace.
- Srichitra Art Gallery.
Departure for Kovalam. Afternoon visit few good beaches at Kovalam.
- Light house beach.
- Howa beach.
- Vizhinjam light house.
- Hawa beach.
Kovalam beach activities.
Beach is having many activities like swimming in light house beach, scuba diving, surfing, speed boat etc. In case interested these activates can be booked on arrival. Some of the items like scuba diving, wind surfing etc need training and during your weekend holidays days, it may not be possible. Overnight stay in Hotel.
Day 7 : Kovalam to Trivandrum. 20minutes.
Leisure and relax in resort. Check out from Hotel at 12pm, proceed to Trivandrum. If time permit, small shopping at the city.
Drop at Trivandrum airport. Tour ends.
