This 4 days Kerala honeymoon tour package is designed for those who does not have much days to spare and like to visit a couple of good locations during their honeymoon. This tour covers Munnar, the famous hill station in Kerala, thrilling experience in a private Houseboat and day visit to the most iconic city Kochi.

How to Reach:
Arrival and Departure by Flight – Kochi (Cochin) International airport is the arrival and departure destination for those who are coming by Flight.
Arrival and Departure by Train/Bus – The best suitable railway station / bus stand is Aluva. Pick up available from Ernakulam railway station (ERS or ERN).
Arrival and Departure time:
We always recommend reaching before 9:00 am so that according to our sightseeing plan, this trip can be smooth. Your departure convenient for this package is any time after 3pm.

Travel Tips:
- In case you are reaching by afternoon, we need to add one more night and its appropriate to stay in Kochi airport, Cherai beach etc.
- In case your flight departure time is 01:00 pm or before, last day programme needs to be skipped and price of the package will remain same.
- Shopping. Kerala is basically a consumer state. Therefore buying clothing except Kerala traditional sarees from Kochi is not idle . Best shopping items are – Tea, Coffee, all types of spices and ayurvedic medicine from Munnar. Any handicraft items etc. from Ernakulam city.
Programme:
Day 1: Kochi Airport / Ernakulam Railway Station
Upon arrival, our driver will meet, greet and transfer to Munnar. It may take up to 3 – 4 hrs to reach Munnar. Below are the sightseeing options available on the way to Munnar.
- Cheeyappara Waterfalls: This is located on the Kochi – Munnar highway. This is a good place to have photos, but no bathing is allowed as rocks used to slippery. There is no entry fee or parking fee needs to be given. There are couples of small shops selling local food items. 15-20 mins halt is recommended.
- Valera Waterfalls: After Cheeyappara you can see another waterfall on the right side. You cannot see this nearby.
Note: These waterfalls are not available from Feb to May due to summer season.
- Plantation Tour: A plantation tour is to familiarize with different ayurvedic herbs, cardamom, cinnamon, tea and coffee plantations. You need to pay an entry fee of minimum Rs 150 per person. These are owned and operated by private parties where they explain about each herb and its importance how this is being used as medicine. After the plantation tour, they used to take the tourist to their shops where different ayurvedic medicines are displayed.
- Elephant Safari: Those who like to see or like to have a ride on an elephant, you can visit a center located on the way to Munnar. It may take up to 1 hr for this activity. Minimum price is Rs 800 per person.
Evening Options:
- Kathakali and Kalaripayattu: Kathakali is a famous art form and Kalaripayattu is a martial art of Kerala both are famous and if you like art and culture, you should not miss this. There are two performance centers in Munnar. Punarjani which is located little bit outside is the best one. Both these performance is of an hour each which start at 05:00 pm and ending at 07:00 pm. Entry fee is Rs 300 per person for each show
Check in hotel and overnight stay in Munnar hotel.
Important Travel Advice:
- In case you reach early morning before 5am, its advisable to go for a fresh up room before proceeding to Munnar.
- If your arrival is afternoon, these sightseeing mentioned above is not possible.
- If your arrival is in the evening, its better to stay in Kochi and start your trip next day.
- You can also visit Athirappilly waterfalls before proceeding to Munnar. Additional taxi charges applicable.
Day 2: Munnar
Full Day Munnar Sightseeing. Best time to start is at 08:30 am.
- Eravikulam National Park: Eravikulam is part of Rajamalai mountain ranges where one can spot rare species of mountain goat called – Nilgiri Tahr. you can also experience Anamudi Peak, beautiful valley from the top, grass land, flora and fauna. Since this involve approx. 700-900 meters hike, those who have breathing problems should avoid this. Also those who are not interested in this Nilgiri Tahr, valley and mountains, this trip can be avoided. Eravikulam national park is closed from 01 Feb to 31 Mar every year due to calving season. Entry is chargeable and permit can be obtained from the main entrance or through online booking.
- Tea Museum vs Tea Factory visit: Tata Tea museum is one of the attraction to find how tea is being processed from raw tea leaves. But couple of yrs ago, two tea factories – one in Mattupetty dam area and another one in Lockhart were open to guest to see how the tea is being processed. Comparing to tea museum, the tea factory visit gives you an advantage as you can also buy processed tea from the factory. Moreover, all these tea factories provide guide along with the guest to explain the process.
Lunch at Munnar city. After lunch we will be covering the below sightseeing options.
After lunch drive to Mattupetty area.
- Mattupetty Dam: Mattupetty dam and its park gives you some time to relax. If you are interested, here speed boat trip with full security is available. There is a small play ground for children is also available.
Echo Point – This is a place near Mattupetty dam. Nice photo stop. - Kundala Lake: Nice lake near to Mattupetty.
- Flower Garden or Rose Garden: Nice place to visit, lots of variety of flowers.
- Shopping in Munnar – Best place to buy Coffee / Tea, Ayurvedic products and all type of species.
Overnight stay in Munnar hotel.
Day 3: Munnar to Houseboat
HOUSEBOAT. Today you are going to experience overnight stay in a Houseboat. Best time to start from Munnar is earliest by 8:00 am as it may take 5 hrs. We always recommend starting early so that you can comfortably reach houseboat by 12:00 pm. On the way from Thekkedy to Houseboat no sightseeing is planned. Arrival at houseboat boarding point. Our representative will help to board the houseboat.
Check in Houseboat at 12:00 pm or when you reach boarding point. Once check in, Houseboat start cruise through the best possible canals in Alleppey from 12:00 pm to 05:30 pm with an hour lunch break. Below are the possible cruise route during your trip.
- Punnamada kayal – river famous where annual Nehru trophy boat race is conducted.
- SNDP canal – One of the small canal in this trip.
- Pamba river – Almost 150ft width river.
- Irumbanam Thod – Another small canal.
- Munnattumugam – Where three canals joints together making very attractive and beautiful place.
- 1330hrs Lunch at Meenappalli Kayal – small lake in the middle of Alleppey backwaters.
Post lunch trip start at 02:30 pm and continue till 05:30 pm. Houseboat makes a trip through some of the beautiful villages in Alleppey called Kainakari Village, R Block, C Block canals.
Between 05:30-06:00 pm, houseboat finally halt at docking point for overnight stay. Once the houseboat halted, guest can walk around till the sun set.
Evening Options and Activities.
Fishing in the lake and backwaters. (most of the houseboats is always having a fishing roads and you will surely get small fishes).
Houseboat is having a tv and music system to enjoy some pictures. You can also bring your own to make your stay more comfortable.
Overnight stay in Houseboat.
Day 4: Munnar to Fort Kochi – Kochi
Get up early morning and experience a nice sun rise in houseboat. (In case of clear climate). Boat starts at 08:00 am and finally drops at 09:00 am at Jetty. During this one hour cruise time, you will be served with authentic South Indian breakfast. Check out from Houseboat and proceed to Kochi.
- Fort Kochi is a fishing village that become the first European township in India. The town shaped by Portuguese, the Dutch and later the British. Sightseeing options available at Fort Kochi is below.
- Jewish Synagogue: Constructed 1568, this is the oldest synagogue in common wealth. It is noted for its mid-18th century, hand-painted, willow-patterned floor tiles from Canton in China, a clock tower, Hebrew inscriptions on stone slabs, old scrolls of the Old Testament etc.
- Dutch Palace: Built by Portuguese in 1557 and presented to Raja of Kochi, the palace was renovated by the Dutch in 1663.
- Vasco da Gama Square / Chinese fishing nets: The huge cantilevered fishing nets are the legacy of one of the first visitors to the Malabar Cost. Erected here between 1350 – 1450 AD by traders from the court of Kabul Khan. The best place to watch the nets being lowered into the sea and the catch being brought in, is the Vasco da Gama Square
- Kodar House Constructed by Cochin Electric company in 1808 example of Indo-European architecture.
Other attractions are Pierce Leslie Bungalow, Santa Cruz Basilica etc. are located in the same area.
Important Points to Know:
- If your departure train or flight is before 3:00 pm, its better to avoid Fort Kochi Sightseeing.
- All the tourist entry points except Fort Kochi Beach will be closed at 5:00 pm.
- Jewish synagogue will be opened after 2:00 pm on Friday.
- Dutch Palace is closed on Friday and Saturdays.
- In case your flight is at 03:00 pm or before, this sightseeing is not possible.
Shopping in Kochi: Kerala is a consumer state and locals are depend on clothes manufactured in other states. Best clothing available is Kerala traditional saree and dhoti. Other items are handicrafts, mural paintings etc. Best shopping places are MG Road, Lulu Shopping mall etc.
After Fort Kochi sightseeing and shopping, you can go straight to Kochi airport, which is approximately 1 hr drive in normal traffic. Morning and afternoon or evening, transfer time may go up to 2 hrs. Drop at airport or Ernakulam rly station. Tour ends.
Houseboat:
Cruise time from 12:00 pm to 05:30 pm with 1 hr lunch break. Next day trip from 08:00 am to 09:00 am.
Welcome drink, Lunch, evening coffee / tea and snacks, Dinner and Next day breakfast & Mineral water included.
Menu is fixed and in case of any additional food will be charged extra.

- In case of payment made by credit card or debit card service charge of 2.5% and 1% will be charged extra.
Important Travel Advice:
- Strike in Kerala. Due to strike called by political parties, safe driving of car and driver is difficult. In that case alternative arrangements with the permission of guest will be made and expenses incurred due to the same are not included and will be charged additional.
- The Hotels you selected according to your budget.
- We recommend you to check reviews and location of hotels in the Trip advisor to make sure it is as per your preference and on arrival in case you want to change the hotel, retention charges or additional charges for the new hotels needs to be paid.
- Taxi used to revisit same place already visited will be charged extra.
- No portion of the tour will be refunded in case of any sightseeing place not visited due to any particular reason.
