2 Nights 3 Days Munnar Tour Package with Cherai Beach – Best Weekend Plan

Brief Overview – This package designed to cover Munnar hill station and Cherai beach. This is idle package for those who want to have short and relaxing trip covering Munnar and Cherai beach. Since Cherai is very close to Kochi and can be easily accessible from Munnar, we are clubbing Munnar and Cherai beach in this weekend holiday package.

Munnar is one of the best hill stations in Kerala due to its landscape, greenery by tea plantations, waterfalls, forests, etc. Cherai beach is one of the best beaches in Kerala which is located close to Kochi. This is the idle beach to club together with Munnar’s destination.  Moreover, since the weekend trip needs less travel, Cherai beach is more idle compare to Mararikulam or Alleppey beach.

1. You can plan this itinerary starting Cherai beach and ending Munnar. There will not be any price difference.

Day 1. Munnar

Up on arrival at Kochi airport / Ernakulam or Aluva rly station or from Munnar bus stand, our driver will meet, receive and transfer to Hotel.  The buses are reaching in the Munnar town area and on arrival, you will be received and transfer to your hotel. The normal check-in time of the hotel is 12 pm but if available you will be provided an early check-in by 9 or 10 am subject to availability. Check-in hotel and relax till lunchtime.

Post lunch, you will be visiting the below places.

• Echo Point – This is a place near Mattupetty dam where if you make a sound, it bounces back with eco.
• Mattupetty Dam – Mattupetty dam and its park gives you some time to relax. The children park is having many activities.  One can also experience speed boating in the dam.
• Kundala Dam. This is another dam en route, a good place for photography.
• Blossom park or rose garden.

Note: Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 2 : Munnar to Cherai Beach.

After breakfast at the hotel, you can visit Rajamali in Eravikulam national park.  Since you need to travel to Cherai beach, we recommend having this visit from 0830hrs to 1030hrs.

1. Eravikulam National Park.  

• Eravikulam national park having an area of 97 sq km is the first national park in Kerala.
• The Park protects endemic and endangered  Nilgiri Tahr, a rare species of mountain goat, and its habitat.
• The park has the largest stretch of undisturbed shoal-grassland ecosystems in the western ghats.
• Anamudi which is 2695 meters in height is the highest peak south of Himalayas is located within this park.
• Before becoming a National Park, the area is the hunting reserve of the colonial tea planters.
• It takes approximately 30 mins drive fro Munnar to the entry point.
• On reaching the entry point, you need to show the online booking details or you can buy the tickets from the counter itself.
• From the ticket counter till the park entry gate is 20 mins  travel by minibus which is being provided by the park authorities.
• On reaching the entry points, you need to walk steep pathways for almost 40 mins to see the Nilgiri Thar and Anamudi Peak.
• Those who do not want to hike, buggy cars are available for rent.
• Best place for memorable photos of mountains and valleys.
• Park is closed from 01 Feb till 31 Mar every year to facilitate calving. 

Check out from Munnar hotel and proceed to Cherai beach.  It takes approximately 3.5 hrs to cover 165 kms. On the way to Cherai beach, one can see below waterfalls.

1. Cheeyappara waterfalls.
2. Valara waterfalls.

Note: Arrival at Cherai beach and evening leisure at the beach resort.

Day 3 : Cherai beach Aluva Rly station or bus stand / Kochi airport

Check out from Hotel by 12 pm and transfer to Airport or Railway station.  Tour ends.

Shopping in Kerala: 

Kerala is basically a consumer state; therefore, we recommend not buying clothes, electronic items, etc. Below are the recommended simple items you can buy.

• All types of species, Coffee & Tea.
• Banana Chips – You can get fresh banana chips from Near Kochi airport, Aleppey or Trivandrum.
• Kerala Traditional Saree – this is available in all textile shops.

Best Gift items are artifacts of Kathakali, houseboats, etc.  These are available to buy from Munnar and Kochi.

Important Points:

• • Strike in Kerala. Due to strikes called by political parties, safe driving of car and driver is difficult. In that case, alternative arrangements with the permission of guest will be made and expenses incurred due to the same is not included and will be charged additionally.
